MMHN FUNDING

MMHN is committed to our objective to optimize the latent economic and cultural value of the maritime sector, while enhancing international, interstate, and domestic recognition of our multi-faceted maritime sector.

MMHN is registered as a Cultural Organisation with the Australian Government and is able to receive tax-deductible donations for its cultural purposes from Australian taxpayers. MMHN is reliant on annual Membership Fees. The MMHN is managed by voluntary Board of twelve, which provides professional expertise and advice gratis. We apply for grants to fund specific projects. 

MMHN has two funding Partnership Support Programs:

MMHN Heritage Partners Program – Individuals and/or Groups

MMHN invites individuals and groups wishing to assist and sustain MMHN advocacy to become a Heritage Partner willing to commit a financial contribution of $550.

Your support will be acknowledged in proactively supporting this advocacy network work to achieve recognition that Victoria had a rich maritime past, a promising maritime present, and most crucially, an exciting maritime future.

If you so wish, links to your group contact details or preferred website will appear on the MMHN website on the Heritage Partners Program page. You will be invited to all MMHN events and, importantly, MMHN will endeavour to assist your work when, and wherever, possible. A reminder that MMHN, has tax deductibility status.

By becoming a Heritage Partner, you group will be:

  • Supporting a great community-based volunteer advocacy network
  • Recognising and celebrating Melbourne’s rich maritime heritage – particularly with young people
  • Supporting Melbourne’s diverse maritime & logistics industry sector and community-based heritage sector groups.
  • Encouraging awareness of and engagement with the maritime environment as well as maritime career prospects.

Your support will ensure that the stated aspirations and objectives of the Melbourne Maritime Heritage Network (MMHN) are achieved.

MMHN Corporate Partners Program

MMHN invites organisations to join the MMHN Corporate Partners Program which identifies six key corporate sectors areas relevant to the maritime sector:

  1. Shipping & Logistics
  2. Education, Skills and Training
  3. Infrastructure Development
  4. Recreational Boating
  5. Tourism
  6. Docklands Precinct Activation
