The Melbourne Maritime Heritage Network (MMHN) is proud to announce that our submission for an innovative Maritime Experience Centre (MEC) at Harbour Esplanade in Docklands has advanced to the next stage of federal funding consideration.

This project represents a significant opportunity to create an engaging, accessible space that honours Melbourne’s rich maritime heritage while offering residents and visitors, particularly young people, the chance to explore potential careers in shipping and maritime industries, and to understand the vital role that maritime trade plays in our city’s economy.

We have a long way to go, but we are actively seeking support from Docklands and Melbourne residents, businesses and visitors who share our vision for this transformative project and who would like to contribute their expertise and enthusiasm to help bring the project to life.
